Esfir Esfir Dyachkov, Camp Director

Born in Yakoutsk, Siberia, Esfir Dyachkov began piano lessons at age five. After studying at the Moscow Academy of Music, she continued at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory with the renowned professors Nathan Fishman and Leonid Roizman. Having graduated with "Great Honours", she was invited to become a professor at the Conservatory's Academy of Music, a position she kept in conjunction with an active concert career. She moved to Canada in 1988.

Performing as a soloist and accompanist has enabled her to tour throughout Europe, the United States and South America. While a member of the Moscow Goskonsert, she had the opportunity to play with famous artists from all over the world.

She guides soloists, while remaining discretely in the background. As well as being an experienced instrumentalist, she coaches and performs with vocalists and choirs.

Esfir Dyachkov has won numerous international prizes and a special first prize for the premiere of Shostakovich's last work: Sonata for viola and piano, op.147. She has recorded for Melodiya and Radio-Canada.

As a teacher, she has authored several publications on piano pedagogy, methods and techniques, and many of her students have been recipients of international prizes. She founded music schools in Russia, Ecuador, and Camp Musical Tutti in Canada.

Yegor Dyachkov Yegor Dyachkov, Cello

Whether offering "a most beautiful romantic interpretation" (Le Soleil, Quebec), captivating audiences with his "silky round tone" (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), or bringing "music to the point of incandescence" (Le Devoir, Montreal), Yegor Dyachkov's artistic profile is characterized by a uniquely beautiful sound, an intensity and richness of playing, a remarkable maturity of musicianship, and a diversity of repertoire.

Born in Moscow in 1974, his principal musical mentors have been Aleksandr Fedorchenko in Moscow, Yuli Turovsky in Montreal and Boris Pergamenschikow in Cologne. An impressive recitalist, orchestral soloist, and chamber musician, Yegor Dyachkov participates in a wide array of festivals such as those in Evian, Kronberg, Tanglewood, Lanaudiere and Vancouver. His concert schedule also includes invitations from such noted ensembles the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders, the CBC Vancouver Orchestra, I Musici de Montreal, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne and the Geneva Chamber Orchestra.

Winning the Orford International Competition in 1997 led to an invitation from the Chandos label to record his debut CD featuring Glazunov's Concerto Ballata. The following year, the American label Brioso launched a CD comprising works by Strauss and Pfitzner, recorded with pianist Henri Brassard. Two other discs, recorded with Jean Saulnier at the piano, featuring sonatas by Shostakovich, Prokofiev and Schnittke (Pellas label) and Brahms sonatas (Analekta), have recently been released to great critical acclaim.

In year 2000, he received the first "Artist of the Year" award from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and the Toronto Women's Musical Club as well as the Young Canadian Musician Award from the eponymous Foundation. Yegor Dyachkov tours internationally on a regular basis, and his performances are broadcast and televised in Canada and abroad. The breadth of his musical commitment extends also to teaching where in masterclasses he is a persuasive, articulate and enthusiastic presence. Caroline Malo Caroline Malo

Caroline has a passion for all genres of performing arts. Her journey is quite the unusual one: since her youth, she has studied music (by tackling a doctorate in piano performance at the Faculty of Music of the University of Montreal), theater (mostly at the École le petit monde des artistes, but also during numerous stages in Québec as well as overseas), singing (with Gaétane Létourneau and Pierrette Lachance) and dance (classical and modern).

Not content to remain with a single means of expression, she has attempted for many years to fuse her different artistic languages into a whole that would transcend the obstacles often associated with conventional schools. Caroline Malo designs scenic shows for Le Théatre des Marie-Sirènes that she founded in 2002. In June of the same year, 'Viviane', the first creation of the TMS, won two prizes given by the Association of Certified Gerontologists of Laval University: best troop project and public prize.

Caroline Malo teaches privately piano and vocal posing to teenagers and adults. She is a specialist in vocal coaching. For more than 15 years, she has been a rehearsal pianist, a playwright, choreographer, musical arranger, author of musicals for Le petit monde des artistes. Furthermore, she has been part of the group Triange (voice, piano, cello) and gives solo performances (piano and voice) for special occasions.
